Work has commenced on this two storey extension to a detached stone dwelling in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. The existing house enjoys an elevated and prominent position with uninterrupted views south towards the Firth of Tay and west towards Dundee and beyond. The design makes the most of this by hanging a glass curtain wall to both levels to maximise the daylight and the amazing aspect. We love all the projects that we are involved in, but every now and again you [...]
We have received formal notification from Argyle and Bute Council that we have won Planning Approval for this new house at Kames on the coast of the Kyles of Bute. The house is laid out to make the most of the site’s aspect and prominent beautiful views east by raising the principal living area to the upper level. In addition, the west facing (evening light) has an external covered seating area. Externally the house is finished with contemporary and environmentally friendly renewable [...]
We have submitted for Planning Approval a conversion of an existing large detached stone villa in to two separate flats. The flats will comprise four and three bedrooms and will benefit from off street parking and garden ground.
One of our St. Andrews projects is nearing Completion. The alterations included some significant internal remodelling and also extending out towards the established the garden ground to make the most of the daylight. We very much like the improvements and are delighted with the way it has turned out……but we may have to concede that our client’s choice of colours might have worked better than ours !

The proposal is an extension to an existing B Listed detached stone villa and on garden ground that has planning approval refused in the past for a dwelling house. The proposal comprises lightweight temporary materials to appear to blend in to the landscape and also offer a feeling of “wellness” to the patrons of the centre. A new [...]
We are about to make a new application for Planning Approval for this house in Dundee. The house sits on a conspicuous gap site and within the setting of an existing Listed Building. The house comprises two levels and is cut in to the sloping site to reduce the visual impact of it relative the Listed House but will still provide excellent views over the Firth of Tay to the south. In line with Planning Policy that should discourage “pastiche versions” we [...]
We have submitted this design for a new dwelling in rural Perthshire to PKC for planning approval. The house comprises three “pavilions” linked together to appear to reduce the physical mass. The pavilions are finished with timber and zinc cladding to provide a contemporary appearance on a traditional form. The 5 bedroom, 3 public room house also has a triple garage including storage (for outdoor pursuit type malarky) and a home office. As always, we hope that the aspiration of the planners [...]
Planning Approval came through from Angus Council this morning for this contemporary extension to a traditional stone villa. We submitted the application just before Christmas and in the intervening period there has been no contact from the Planning Department or any statutory consultee. Approval granted in quick time with no fuss. Either we’re learning or the Planners are…….
We have prepared some embryonic proposals for an extension to an existing spa and wellness centre in Dundee. The existing clinic is within a converted category B Listed house but the building is not large enough to accommodate the growth of the business. Because the building is Listed any proposals will require to respect the “setting” of the Listed Building and at the same time convey to the patrons a feeling of “wellness” and calm. Our proposal comprises an additional 6 [...]
